“The answer has always been, it’s because of the ice.”
Rolf Nylinder explores the Swedish Taiga in this short film of classic Nylinder fashion that we’re accustomed to. Along the way, he teases out some threads and plans for future projects with Rewilding Sweden. Sure to be stellar work as always.
From Nylinder: “Over the past ten years, I’ve wandered the forests of the Swedish Taiga with a fishing rod in hand and a camera by my side. This film is not just about fishing, it’s some sort of personal reflection on the shape of the landscape. The Nordic Taiga is for some seen as wild, and for some a production landscape. I guess both are true, depending on where you look, this is just my look at it.
Last year I came in contact with Rewilding Sweden. I’d like to explore the idea of rewilding landscapes and what it might mean for this landscape.”
