Originally produced in 2019, "Off Season—Montana" celebrates cooler, less crowded days on the water. Every angler knows about Montana in the summer: long days, abundant bug life, willing trout. But, what about the offseason?
“Montana in the fall is more mellow,” says Hilary Hutcheson. “After all the people are gone and you have this place to yourself with just your family and friends, it’s something a little different.”
It’s long-haul road trips, floats in the rain, being the only one out, seeking shelter from the cold, rowing the one you love, bratwurst on the boat, beers, then more beers, short days, less-than-abundant bug life—and still some willing trout.
